iCollege CompTIA Certification Training Review

So I picked up the CompTIA Certification bundle from iCollege on StackSocial recently and wanted to give you my thoughts on the course bundle overall. I did get my A+ Certification many years ago but since they only stay valid for 3 years I thought it would be a good time to update my credentials. Plus, the bundle includes training for all the other certs such as:

Comptia Icollege Courses

So my basis for this review then will be on both their A+ 220-1001 and 220-1002 courses.

Content Quality

All the courses are fed through their built-in Wistia video player, so you don’t need to have a video player on your computer or phone (which most will have anyways). The videos are easy to watch and you can easily jump to any part of the video with the time slider, which is nice if you want to jump to specific sections.

In terms of actual helpful content, the presenter is easy to understand and is relatable which makes absorbing his teaching very easy. Since I am already A+ certified, I found these courses to be really easy but if someone comes in with no knowledge of computers at all, they should be up to speed fairly quickly after completing both courses. Do I think you will be able to pass both A+ exams after viewing these courses?

The short answer is NO. These CompTIA exams are not easy tests, they are put together to ‘trip’ you up so to speak, meaning that you need to be knowledgeable enough on the material to know when you are being tripped up and to actually think through the question. I would use these video training lessons as either a primer to your study or as reinforcement to what you learn, either through an accredited university or school or on your own with A+ study guides. While studying for these exams, you can’t overstudy and any info that is presented to you in an easy to absorb manner should be utilized.  With that said, you won’t be disappointed with the iCollege Online Learning platform for the CompTIA exams. Especially since you can pick up the entire video training library at a one off price.
